I saw where this got a few bad reviews and couldn't believe it because I so enjoyed it. Yes, there was some repetition involved because of the stress of the case Maggie is working on and the fact it brought back memories of when Maggie and her sister, Erica, were kidnapped as children. Maggie escaped but Erica was never found. Maggie has always blamed herself for leaving Erica behind, even though Erica was older and had ordered Maggie to run. Now another girl has been taken, a Senator's daughter. The case is complicated by the fact Kayla is diabetic and needs daily insulin injections.

Jake O'Connor works security for Senator Thebes so it's only natural he wants to work with Maggie on bringing the girl home safely. Once a Special Forces operative, Jake possesses his own set of skills but nothing like Maggie's as a negotiator. She's determined to succeed and takes charge from the moment she decides to work on the case. But neither one of them know there are powerful forces at work behind the scenes to keep them from finding out the truth behind the real motive for Kayla's kidnapping.

Many twists and turns. Lots of suspense with a little romance thrown in for good measure. Definitely recommend.

Dangerous Games starts with a bang & keeps on rolling, leaving the reader hanging on for the next explosion. Loved the hero & heroine. Hope there are more stories about them.
It was an okay read, but honestly with hours I had forgotten the man characters names as nothing was really memorable. I need a closer connection between the characters.
I loved this book. Well written. The story never dragged. I was surprised that as smart as Maggie was, she didn't seek counseling after her last case. Also, I was extremely disappointed that our 2 main characters weren't given an epilogue to show a bit more of their relationship. That's why 4 stars.
Ms. Diamond seems like a good bet if you are looking for something along the lines of Kay Hooper or Elizabeth Llowel. This book is dark and gritty but has lighter moments and you really root for the good guys. I'll read her next book.
It's a cliffhanger!! Now I have to continue on with Book 2 to see just how far the kidnapper will force the negotiators to get what he wants at the possible expense of a young girl's life. You've got me hooked Ms. Diamond!
I'm a new fan of Tess Diamond and I love this FBI Thriller Series. I read this out of order so I already knew some of what happened from the next book in the series. Still, I loved this novel. I'm not sure why people gave it less stars than the next one because I thought this one was better. Great characters that I'm happy will continue in the series, gripping suspenseful storylines and smart writing. I'm also very appreciative of the good proofreading and almost no typos!!
I didn't do enough research on this novel before I downloaded it and that's on me. I don't like a lot of romance mixed in with mystery and that is what this book is. The two main characters are great but a lot of Maggie's problems, from the past, seemed to crop up again and again. It ended with a cliff hanger but I guess there will be more to read in this series. Personally, I'll not be reading anymore.
